Experience
Over 6,000 nautical miles logged in the last two years, mostly in the Biscay, UK and Ireland sea areas. I have extensive night, winter and heavy-weather experience on a wide variety of vessels and am familiar with most ports in the South of England, South of Ireland and the Irish Sea.
Crew Network
I have a good network of highly experienced crew with flexible availability, most with Yachtmaster Offshore qualifications. All have worked together at one time or another and work well as a team. I do not use amateurs or mile-builders on yacht delivery jobs.
Yacht Delivery Costs
I charge a flat rate of €150 or £120 per day, plus expenses. If crew are required costs are €120 or £90 per day per crew, plus expenses. Average mileage per day for sailing vessels is approximately 140 nautical miles, although this can vary substantially depending on weather, preparation time and other factors.
Most deliveries will require a skipper plus one crew with passages over 600nm requiring two crew. Normal expenses include budget airfare, train, bus or ferry costs to and from the boat, food, fuel and berthing costs, if needed. At all times we will seek to minimise expenses for the client.
